Cowshed started with a simple mission: to inject a little country calm into people's busy lives. Today their spas and natural products are famous worldwide for their originality, core ingredients and festive gift sets.
Christmas with Cowshed
The festive collection focuses on wild-crafted ingredients that will beautify your bathroom cabinet or bedside table.

We used recycled coffee cups across all Christmas packaging, supplied by GF Smith and made at a paper mill in the Lake District, England. The bottles are made from a carbon-neutral bioplastic which is a by-product from the sugarcane industry. Our mission was to ensure we took that next step to align with Cowshed’s sustainability goal to be plastic free by 2023.

After working with Katie Scott on the Cowshed refresh we felt her aesthetic felt right because it references heritage but it's modern. We really wanted to showcase that Cowshed’s products use ingredients that you'd find in the walled garden - good for you, not full of bad stuff.

Cowshed was one of the first natural brands to use aromatherapy and organic, wildcrafted ingredients in their products - making it local, making it fresh, making it authentic. It was important for us to inject the brand’s DNA into the campaign. As Cowshed had a new look we didn't want to confuse the customer with a completely new Christmas visual identity, which is why we commissioned Katie Scott, a talented illustrator.

Approach:
In July 2019 we launched a Cowshed brand refresh across more than 150 products spanning six categories incuding body, face, home fragrance and more.
As Cowshed had a new look we didn't want to confuse the customer with a completely new Christmas visual identity, which is why we commissioned Katie Scott, a talented illustrator, who worked with us on the Cowshed refresh. We wanted to introduce her style of illustration across the Christmas packaging and marketing material to tie in with Cowshed's new brand identity that Katie helped create.
We explored some of the ingredients in the products and selected botanicals such as mistletoe that reminds us of the festive session to develop a range that was a little different to the traditional red, white and classic Christmas look. I worked closely with Katie on creating a whimsical product lineup and selecting materials as well as producing final artwork. I also took lead in rolling out the design assets across all advertising, press, events, digital and print marketing on the website, spas and wholesalers.
